Today has been spent repairing the 1950’s era wiring. In common with everything else, there have been some very dodgy repairs over the years. I powered up the house from the generator, and spent some time going through each lighting circuit, reconnecting loose wires, replacing fuses, re -sheathing bare wires, and finally sorting out the 2 way lighting for the hallway and landing, which must never have worked! The man from EDF comes on the 17th, and there must not be any short circuits or the wiring gets comdemned! Good old Ebay helped out with some ceramic fuse holders!

Project re glazing is also underway, with twenty odd broken windows to deal with! I have found a very helpful local glazier, who has cut and supplied the glass in double quick time. My bedroom is at last warm(er)
